Are there any laws about adultery in Texas?
If a married man’s wife is cheating on him and have 4 kids together but one might be the man who she’s cheating on him with. If the man who she’s cheating on him with has given her some kind of drug or done some sort of witchcraft on her. If she mistreats her daughters by hitting them cussing at them and leaving them alone at night asleep so that she can go out with her partner while her husband is out of town working? I NEED HELP! MY BEST FRIEND IS WORRIED HE DOESN’T KNOW WHAT TO DO!
I’m pretty sure any couple can get divorce for any “whatever’s”. No such thing as adultery anymore; they call it “irreconciliable difference”. It sounds pretty wacky to me. Before they have the need for a judge, they better damn see a Psychiatric Counselor.
I live in the State of Texas. Does adultery make a common law marrage null and void ?
Does anyone know the Texas law book that contains answers to common law marrages ?
There are several states that recognize common law marriages. They include:
Georgia (if created before 1/1/97)
Idaho (if created before 1/1/96)
New Hampshire (for inheritance purposes only)
Ohio (if created before 10/10/91)
Oklahoma (possibly only if created before 11/1/98. Oklahoma’s laws and court decisions may be in conflict about whether common law marriages formed in that state after 11/1/98 will be recognized.)
Pennsylvania (if created before 9/03)
However, in Texas the are called informal marriages. I saw no documentation that claimed adultery would make it null and void.
Filed for divorce in texas, met someone, is this adultery?
My husband and I filed for divorce in Texas… I moved to Washington to restart my life, the divorce isn’t finalized till the end of jan… He knows I am with someone and is saying it’s adultery and will use it against me in court. Did I commit adultery even though it’s filed? I know it’s different in some sstates, so if anyone knows about Texas laws, that would be helpful.
Meeting someone isn’t adultery. Having sex with someone while you or the other person is married to someone else is.
Most judges just don’t want to hear about adultery — unless you’re doing it while the kids are in the house. And, of course, using y’all’s money to buy jewelry for the boyfriend/girlfriend is a source of concern.
How is Adultery against the law in the state of Texas?
Is it still legal, in Texas, to kill a spouse if caught in the act of adultery?
If not, when was the law changed?
Is the law the same standard for a wife killing a husband?
This question is not relating to any mental instability defense (temp. insanity, heat of the moment….). This question is regaurding the actual written state law.
This law was in effect and used within the past 10 years. NOT used a defense, the written law.
I am not questioning the morals of Texans. I have no problem with the people of Texas.
This is not a question having to do with the bible or religion. I am not questioning the faith or character of the Texas people.
Legal question….simple. Take it easy…no need to attack me. I am not hateful, just curious.
